The Love of Two Stones

Stones hold quiet stories within them.
They sit for ages, watching the world turn, and sometimes, deep, gentle bonds form between them.
A long, long time ago, two great boulders rested side by side on a mountain.
For tens of thousands of years, they kept each other company.

Sometimes they bickered, sometimes they chatted, and life was peaceful and pleasant.
One day, one of the boulders absorbed the essence of the sun and moon.
It woke up, and gained the power to shift into any shape it wished.
Filled with excitement, it raced across the mountain.
It picked wild flowers and tasted sweet mountain fruits.

After a while, though, it came back to its old friend.
“Though I am curious about the wide world out there,
I cannot bear to leave you.”
The second boulder suddenly stirred, and smiled.
“Let’s go. I have been waiting for you for hundreds of years.”
Stones do not rush.
They measure time in centuries, not days.
This is the quiet magic we admire in natural rock.
Every stone carries patience, memory, and quiet affection forged over endless time.
